Asiatic Black Bears in Care of FOUR PAWS

Images of the rescued black bears in our BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh in Vietnam

Native to the mountain regions of many Asian countries, the Asiatic Black Bear (also known as moon bear) has been exploited for its bile to be used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)  for many centuries.

Although the extraction of bear bile was forbidden by law in Vietnam in 2005, many bears still remain in small, metal cages. FOUR PAWS is fighting to save the remaining bears.

Our BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh, in Vietnam, is a home for rescued bile bears in Vietnam. See them enjoying their life in a species appropriate environment, with grass beneath their paws and freedom to roam!
